My wife has written several books and I have talked her into getting an editor to give it a look before she publishes.
Her genre is twisted, horror, fiction. No one I know at work can help so I'm reaching out to the Team. We aren't looking for a free ride but we are looking for someone with experience. Alternately if you happen to know anyone who has published and they remember their editor, that would be helpful. Pics of the wife will follow any good, reputable recommendations. Thanks guys, Bill |

Google "Preditors and Editors", a site with information for those who desire to be published writers to help them avoid some of the scams out there. Also, she can probably ask around on Baen's Bar, there are several people there who do freelance editing, either asking politely in the "Baen's Bar" conference or contacting Sarah Hoyt for permission to post in "Sarah's Diner". She can also post chunks of her work in the "Slush Pile" conference, while Baen is primarily a science fiction/fantasy publisher, I don't think the Slush Pile conference is limited to those categories. |

Quoted: Thanks LW, she's there now checking it out. Not seeing the pics... (fwiw, my ex-wife was coauthor on some science fiction books from Baen that hit the New York Times bestseller list, I've sat through more panels at conventions about how to get published than I care to recall, and I know a number of writers, editors, and publishers, I just don't recall offhand which editors I know are accepting freelance work right now). |
