I remember a little while back someone posted something that Bookhound and his crew were working on that took some of the guess work out of long range shooting. They had a very accurate high power rifle with some advanced scope that made long range hits much easier.
This article looks at some technology that takes it a lot further. Basically you use the scope to find your target and lock onto it. Once locked on the target, you "theoretically" can't miss as the scope will only let the rife fire if you are dead on target given the conditions. They are making three models of this rifle/scope platform. Two for military/law enforcement and one hunting model. Pretty cool read if you have a few minutes. Link |
