Never had anything class 3, but I am getting an itch for a suppressed 300BLK SBR.
I assume I would need to pay for two tax stamps if I did this, correct? I also assume I would need to fill out one form for the suppressor and one for the SBR. Any info you want to give me is welcomed. Like I said, I never did anything class 3. I will be researching on my own, but I figured a few here have been through this...probably more than once. |

Quoted: You only need 2 tax stamps if you buy a can on a form 4 located in another state. Buy a can from a dealer or a individual in GA and you only pay for 1 stamp. td He is asking about a suppressor and an SBR. You know more about it than I do, so correct me if I am wrong, but I always believed it to be one stamp per item. |

Both a silencer and an SBR require a Form 4.
So you will have two Form 4's @ $200 apiece- One for the SBR and one for the Silencer. Essentially it goes like this: Find a dealer, buy the SBR/ Silencer. Dealer will help you fill out the Form 4(s) You finish off your part (Chief LEO Sign off, Fingerprints, Photos OR trust) Mail off the forms with the $200 check per form Wait 5-6 months Pick up forms and Firearms from dealer Rejoice What part of the state are you in? Any dealer who sells this kind of devilish kind of non sporting firearm should be able to help you with the forms.

Yeah 2 stamps, but so what another $400 if that is what you want. That caliber and in the AR is a good choice IMHO...do you reload? I do not reload, but I know I need to start. I just have almost zero free time these days, and starting next semester I will have negative free time. I will probably be asking about that next |

I finally got accepted into their Physical Therapist Assistant program. How much initial investment would it take for reloading? Thinking about just 5.56, 300BLK and possibly 6.8spc. |

So many variables... budget a minimum of $300 for a 'starter kit' |

I know its a little off topic, but are any of you guys who reload willing to sell subsonic 300blk ammo? Would it even be any cheaper for me than getting factory boxed ammo? Reloaded ammunition CANNOT be sold by individuals. You'd need an FFL, I think type 7 minimum, to sell reloaded ammunition. |

Quoted: Here's a little motivation, 300 BLK SBR. The 762SDN-6 is sitting at Cherokee G&P waiting for its stamp. Should be here next month. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2/evolution88/IMG_2791_zps9849f99e.jpg We have similar setups. I would take a picture of mine, but it would wake up the wife. I'll try to get a picture up tomorrow depending on time. When is your pending date? I have a pending of June 8 for an SDN-6 and I went into problem status last Wednesday, 10/3. Shannon Siviero is almost halfway through June. I'm assuming my problem is that I did not include a Schedule of Compensation with my trust. I didn't need one last year, but I've seen people having their trusts kicked back this year for not having it. I went ahead and dropped off the document with AR Bunker yesterday in anticipation.

Most likely that is the case; my SBR Stamp came back needing correction for that reason. It was a two week turn.
I think pending was like May 15th for the suppressor. Quoted:

I called the BATFE NFA hotline last week and was informed that they currently have a solid, 6-month turnaround time. I went pending in June, and the lady told me to expect a Christmas present. |
| You can SBR a lower you currently own on a form 1 and you'll not have to buy a new one. Still costs $200 for the stamp, but you don't have to pay for another complete lower. Go the trust route. Easy to do and no wait or bother with LEO approval, fingerprints, etc. Clyde Armory or Accurate Ordnance would be my choice for the suppressor. |
