I was glad to see Romney perform as well as he did.
I've actually liked him since the 2007 and think he would make a practical, less than political, President. Looks like I'll be cutting another check today because other than an EMP attack or pandemic, I can't think of anything worse for our country than four more years of BO. |
|
I'm a fan of neither, but it's the first Presidential debate that I've watched completely in many years.
Romney looks composed, prepared, and bold enough to demand the oppurtunity to respond. Obama bumbled, made a lot of weird facial expressions and smiled hugely for no apparent reason. He was incapable of constructing a complete sentence. AND––––––––––––––- in is closing speech he had the Froidian slip of saying "...getting your fair share- er- doing your fair share..." Socialism leaked out like puss from a rank blister. Obama looks paniced and kept looking at the moderator like he wanted the mod to step in and shut Romney down. |

Have you heard the "man on the streets" stuff Howard Stern and some others have done? A huge portion of this country will still support Obama either because they are flat out stupid or racist. In some cases it is a little bit of both. Sad, but I won't be surprised when we get Obama for another term. Mark |
| While I would probably vomit immediately if BO were reelected......the country might survive....what I fear most is what he would do to the supreme court....imagine another couple of justices so blatantly partisan and anti american as Kagan.....as a small business owner...I get on my knees daily and pray that he is gone in November...... |

As an American, I pray for the same. Of course with the caveot that "God you know best" In other regards, there are ignorant teachable people and ignorant unteachable... It's everyone's job to teach those who can be reached. It's going to take more than sitting on the sidelines. Make a call, write an email, send a check. Do what you can if beating Obama is important to you. ... |
| Several times when Romney was speaking, Obama was looking off the side of the stage and nodding. It gave the wife and me the perception that he was being coached by someone. Not saying he was, just that it made it look like he was. Our opinion: Romney won, Obama lost and Jim Lehrer got his ass kicked |

An interesting questionaire to give you a better idea of which candidates you line up with and where. I didnt know half these people even existed....

Not to derail the thread too much, but think about it from the perspective of people who believe that the Bible is true. If God created the universe and everything in it, how hard would it be for Him to make that whole universe look older to us than it really is? I'm undecided on the matter myself, but I certainly don't rule it out. Likewise, I believe it's completely within God's power to create a universe that follows guidelines that lead to an evolution of species here on Earth. Anyone who says that we came from monkeys or lizards, or whatever, really has no idea what the theory of evolution says. It doesn't say we're descended from monkeys. It says humans and monkeys descended from common ancestors. Each species became its own thing. Neither begat the other. According to evolution. |

Can anyone cite one case of evolution in process?
how does the Maple tree know that there is wind? how is it that a plant had the capability to evolve into dropping it's seeds by means of an auto-rotating helicopter? It's a clearly intelligent design that required at the very least the knowledge of the presence of atmosphere, if not wind, and just happens to have the same wing structure as a wasp or dragonfly wing, yet it's a life from with no capacity for intelligence. |

For what purpose? evolution would seem to require an end goal of every evolutional phase. People have gotten fatter too, but it's due to environmental changes, and not clearly for evolutional purpose. |

It's simple to firgure belieivers in God as ignorant and close minded, but I know no intelligent believer that just leaves it that since they don't understand, it must be God. That is not what I was saying about the maple seed. I'd like to hear a scientific explanation as to hoow and why it's seed depends on air for transport to further it's specific procreation. I don't say, simply that I don't understand, so it must be God. I see obvious elements of intelligent design. If it's not the case, then refute it instead of claiming that some old guy didn't agree, so it must be false teaching. Newton explained a lot and was a believer. Does his belief in a creator negate his discoveries in physics? Explain why the animal body is the most advanced machine regarding input of fuel, and why we can't match it in any of our own developments in 10,000 years of homeosapian evolution. |

Watch the first video I imbedded. Life has been evolving for a billion years, mammals have been evolving for tens of millions of years, humans have been creating complex machines for 4000 years. It may take a few more decades. |

As a "live and let live", non militant atheist, I can only tell you that the cause of gravity is absolutely unknown. It can be observed, quantified, measured and such. One theory is a bend in space-time that is more prevalent the higher the mass of the object, that causes objects to "fall" towards one another. If you can discover the cause of gravity, you can complete the unified field theorem, and win a Nobel Prize, just like our President has. Well, except it would say "Physics" on it, and you would have actually earned it. |

It was uplifting to see Romney hand the manchild his ass in the 1st debate, let's hope this trend continues. Even this Gary Johnson "nutbag" really enjoyed watching O get his ass handed to him. If Romney wins, and walks what he was talking, I can go back to "simmer" mode for a while. Watching it, it really made me wonder how the hell this guy got to be president. I have often wondered that, but watching him without a prompter, just with his wits, and a little help from his debate coach (oops, I meant moderator) it is obvious that he is a very, very sorry excuse for a President. I think it has painted the clearest picture to date, of how useless O is. |
