I hope daily that the Wally World here in Roswell will get guns, but to this point it has not happened. They normally have plenty of ammo, so I guess I cant bitch too much. Walmart, Roswell, huh, where? 970 Mansell Rd, just past the funeral home on the left, before the Porsche dealership and Warsaw Rd. |

Walmart in Canton has a couple including a Colt. They also had the Sig version last time I was in there. I'm tempted to buy it, just to say I did. Which one? The colt, although I already have one. I've seen them get bought and replaced a few times. |

The day WM starts selling pistols and they already do in a few states you can kiss your local FFL goodbye.
I love how people flock to WM to save a few $$$ but these same people would cry like a baby if WM got into the business they use to feed their family.... I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you are plumber, electrician, accountant ETC and WM got in the business you got to work for them or sit at home. All the while people are flocking to WM to save a few $$$ while you sit at home going broke and or starving. td who doesn't shop at WM |

There is an FFL just about every 2 miles which makes it crappy for everyone. I'd like to see a few large stores rather than 100 mom+pop shops that don't make any money. |

Sure, you can buy whatever (gun, plumbing, electrical, etc.) at WM (or most of the other big box stores), but you cannot get experts to help you. It is up to the little guy to offer something that the bigbox place cannot to justify the extra cost. |

You are correct but all to often I find people come in my shop and think nothing of wasting an hour of my time asking 100's of question. They leave here, go 3 miles down the road and buy the gun for $20.00 less at WM or order it online. This is especially true in a down economy like we've experienced for the last 8-10 years. I am blessed to have enough loyal customers to make the gun bizz worthwhile. td |

I would hate to spend half my day driving around, missing TV, to get all my free stuff. Sarcasm. :) |

I feel your pain. As a CPA, I have plenty of people, including "friends" who will ask me questions about their tax return, many times with the pretense that they are about to hire me to prepare their return(s). Then, they prepare the return with TurboTax. A recent example. Someone I thought was my friend tells me he is behind on taxes. He needs several years filed. Wants to know what I would charge, roughly. I said I usually charge around $115/hour, but I will work something out with him, just get the information together for each year so that the preparation goes smoothly. I planned to charge this person around $400 MAX, which is an unbelievable price. Anyway, he starts asking more questions, and over the course of two weeks, I get all these questions about depreciation vs. expenses, etc etc, and next thing you know, I stop hearing from him. So, it appears he was leading me on in the beginning only to get enough info to prep his own returns. Life sucks, don't it? I spent alot of time on the phone and sending emails to him with checklists for necessary information, etc. I should send him a bill for that time alone. Usually, clients are charged for time sending emails, phone consults, etc.
Anyway, I'll probably just buy a frame and build an AR. If I do buy a walmart AR, it would be a Colt. I don't need a gun store to help me with selecting that. Quoted:

Ricky,
Where are you located..????? I have a decent accountant and he's been working for me for a very long but he's no longer convenient after I relocated to Dublin about 7 yrs ago. He's in N. Gwinnett and I have to mail everything to him not to mention we have to work out kinks over the phone. td shopping for a new accountant |

I rarely buy anything firearms related from Wal-Mart, but must say that the fact Wal-Mart is stocking ARs is a good thing.
It seems that a few years ago they were getting out of having firearms at some locations. Now, they are stocking firearms that people at ARFCOM view as desirable. To me, it is good that AR-15s are becoming a more widely accepted firearm. Still, I try to give my money to local businesses, whether it be firearms, ammunition, clothing, food, or anything else. |

Well, I am near N. Gwinnett, LOL. I am in South Hall, actually. But the internet and technology allow for streamlined communication. All accounting and tax information can be transmitted via secure channels, and the consultations can be done over the phone. If you have a good accountant, stick with him/her. But if there are communication issues, that can be a challenge. Technology can solve this issue, however.
