EDIT AS OF 1400 7/8: I will be away from the computer for the rest of the day, and will not be returning until after 1700. If anyone is wanting to order the 40mm cans in time to take advantage of the sale price, please call TruPrep directly. 877.573.7173 Thanks! Sale over... unless they want to extend...
A few weeks ago Shep made a thread about a big ammo can bundle he scored, which eventually turned into a discussion of who was interested in ammo cans from TruPrep in Marietta if I was doing the shipping. Well, the time has come! IF you are somewhere along the I-75 and I-16 corridor between Atlanta and Savannah, or are in Savannah, I will be travelling that route this coming Friday, the 13th. I sent IM's to a number of you who expressed interest in the thread, and this is the thread I told you to look out for. Link to 40mm cans on TruPrep's site: http://truprep.com/store/40mm-ammo-can-used.html How it is gonna work: 1. You IM me your name, how many of the cans you are wanting and some contact info: email would work, but a phone number where you can be reached would really be best. 2. I will be feeding this info to LaRue556 (name is LaRue if you call the shop), who works at the shop. He will be working the contact list tomorrow (Sunday), making calls to get people's payment info. If you'd rather call the store's number yourself to give your CC info, that's fine, but I still need to know your name, contact info and how many you are ordering as well, so still send the IM. LaRue will confirm to me next week a compiled list of orders. 3. Order deadline is Wednesday 7/11, but if you want to take advantage of the sale price they are at right now, your order must be placed with them by 1700 tomorrow (Sunday). I want to cut off on Wednesday so I have enough time outside of work to plan route and make delivery appointments. I am doing this to try to give you guys a break on shipping empty steel boxes via premium freight, so there are a few things I request to help make this easier, as I still want to make it home for the weekend at a reasonable time on Friday, without burning too much extra fuel doing it 1. If you are in the northern/middle ATL metro area, and can reasonably make it to the shop to get the cans yourself, please consider doing that as opposed to ordering thru this. I get off work a little after noon Friday in Alpharetta, and I am really trying to get to Marietta to collect the cans and clear the perimeter before traffic goes all to hell. If you're further south, I'll work with ya, long as you can meet up close to the road. 2. Be able to meet at an exit right off 75 or 16, or have someone meet in your stead. The closer to the highway the better! 3. If you place an order, please make sure to monitor your IM box/email/phone/facsimile/whatever at least once a day if at all possible to ease communication. 4. Quantity limits: Ordering just a few? No problem. Ordering a dozen? No problem. Ordering pallet quantities cause you're a dealer? No bueno... I drive a full size pickup, not a heavy haul dry van. Let me know how many you want when you IM me, and I'll let you know if I see an issue with your quantity or if there will be an inventory problem in meeting the order. This was started in relation to the 40mm cans; TruPrep does have other sizes, though I don't know how much. With any luck, this will be a good way for you guys to get some great storage cans at a great price, and for me to meet a few fellow arfcommers I haven't yet. Again, send me your info ASAP today or tomorrow to take advantage of the sale! To be clear, you can still get an order in until Wednesday or so, it's just not on sale any more. Still a good price, though! |

Here are some of the other Ammo cans we have available in addition to the 40mm. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn229/gentleman4561/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_4667.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn229/gentleman4561/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_7044.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn229/gentleman4561/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_4730.jpg How much are the saw boxes? |

A number of people asked about pricing for some of the other cans, trying to make up their minds about ordering. If you're thinking about ordering, I talked to LaRue, and this is what he told me:
40mm Cans - $10.99 each until the close of business today, then back to normal price at $14.99 81mm Mortar Can - $19.95 each. .50 Cal - $11.99 and .30 cal - $9.99. 5.56 Saw can - $11.99 |

OK, while an honest read of the OP and some responses of mine in the thread would suggest I DO NOT work at the store, I guess I never clearly stated that.
So, for the record, I do not work for TruPrep. I didn't receive any compensation or special treatment of any kind, and didn't contract with them to do this. I was going where some people wanted cans, had an empty truck bed, figured there was an opportunity there. If you can beat prices, that's great! Open a store and sell them. I'm not the one you want to go after
Now that I'm back at my computer, wanted to just say it was nice to meet you guys. Everybody involved was on time and easy as hell to work with, which made it really easy to do, hardly any more trouble than the drive itself. Especially considering Friday Atlanta traffic, couldn't have gone smoother. Thanks! |
