Ok it's getting nuts.
105 today! |
it was 108 in my work bays yesterday, most the guys left, even the service manager
it's unreal at the amount of A/C work i have right now i'll give some free advice, if you auto temp control, scroll the temp setting all the way to the lowest number, on a Ford product that's 60 not 75, not 80, then setting your system on MAX so it will recirculate the cooled cabin air, not draw in 110 degree on from outside and overwhelm the A/C system. 3 out of 7 complaints i looked at yesterday were just that. when your "babies be sweatin' "and you have an extended length length Expedition, that is black, with black leather interior and your A/C is set on normal and on 75 on the drives side and 80 on the passenger side, your vehicle isn't going to cool well at all. it's hard to explain to customers how to operate their vehicle, i just explain, "lady, this is not your house" my digital therm. saves my ass, you can take a reading at the vent registers and it's 39 degrees and the windshield is 98, customers have the light bulb, just got flipped on look we got a pep talk, when the service manager passed out checks on friday, "i know it's hot" but that's no excuse to get behind on your work load . the salesmen had ALL the gatorade polished of before lunch friday, then bitched at the SM at 2pm because the technicians cooler was empty stay cool out there fellows, when i got home last night i took off my boots and shirt and jump in the pool with my boys, i didn't care about work shorts

I was at an outdoor range years ago when the heat index was something over 100. There were only a couple of us and when we weren't shooting we were bitching and moaning about the heat. There was one fellow there that just kind of smirked when the rest of us were throwing a sissy fit about the weather. So I mentioned to him that he must be one of those people who isn't affected by the heat.
He said he was with the Marines at the Chosin Reservoir and swore to God if he ever got out of there alive he would never complain about the heat on a hot day again. He kept his word apparently. I didn't complain too much that day after that. |

I was also at an outdoor wedding, where the reception/party was at a cabin up in the mountains of Tennessee. We were going through water and Gatorade like crazy, one crew had filled the big coolers with ice on their way there in the late morning, by the time I arrived at 1:00pm with another 160lbs of ice, they were needing it already. Sucked camping in that mess, only had a few hours where it was cool overnight before it started roasting again in the morning, I just got done washing two day's sweat off my body. Quoted: We just got back in from an outdoor wedding. Everyone was drenched in sweat. |

Luckily boss likes me so I went and bar tended in the AC
