It's become nearly impossible to remain a "law-abiding citizen" when everything you could possibly do is regulated to such an extent.
Soon it will be illegal to breath too much air.

We should consider the source of the information we get before we judge how wrong she is. She and her dad do the things most of us like.  She is one of us, and from the jist of this thread, we're throwing her under the bus.

so what, she posted on youtube/facebook. Should a freedom loving individual be able to do that? Have you ever shot tannerite in anything other than the container it comes in? Perhaps you even saw projectiles from it. Maybe she made the homemade mix.

It could be almost any of us in the same boat.

i am starting to agree with Kletz.  the statement in the article from her father that she "runs with the wrong crowd" or the like is a little disturbing, and i definitely don't think she is not the brightest bulb in the box, but i don't see that she has done anything "wrong" per se here.

want to read something that will really piss you off, and actually is illegal?  last night O's DOJ issued a cease and desist order that is supposed to keep FL from eliminating illegal, non-resident alien voters from the voting roles.

Was this girls actions a danger to anyone else from the information we have? No. Was it in the pursuit of happiness? Yes. Was she enjoying and expressing her God given liberty? Yes.

What is the crime? A tax violation for an unregistered destructive device.

DEA was not involved, so clearly they weren't there on suspicion of drug use. That's a tack on charge after raiding the house. Just another nail in the coffin.

She didn't pay the $200 tax on her destructive device.

Imagine you have a 16" barrel AR. It has crown damage so you order the tool from brownells to put an 11 degree crown on the muzzle. In the process you shave off 1mm of metal, and screw the flash hider back on.
Sounds innocent enough, but, you just committed a federal felony for not filing a form 1, submitting background check info and paying $200 tax to ATF for an SBR. It's criminal to own a 15.99999" barreled rifle without registering the weapon.

I doubt if it was tannerite, since the video shows her lighting a fuse.  Probably a conventional pipe bomb with gunpowder.  These were a lot more common in the 70's.  They can do quite a bit of damage with very little material investment.

Explosives used to be part of the thrill of growing up.  But going to the hardware store and getting dynamite to blow up beaver dams on your farm would probably draw attention now.  When it comes to explosives nowadays, the feds don't react - they over-react.

I do realize "bomb" building is a federal violation, but I don't know if a girl blowing up toilets in the woods is worth the Feds or anyone else getting worked up about.

She brought it on herself.  She should have just kept her mouth shut and not posted her life on YouTube.  She wouldn't be facing anything at all right now.

And the pot and meth possession doesn't help her case one bit.

Even it it was tannerite it is only legal when in its separated components when transporting or storing.  I had a sales meeting with the ATF and asked them about tannerite.  The agent told me that tannerite and other binary explosives are only legal if they are mixed and used right away.  If you mix them, and store them or transport them in their mixed state, they are illegal.  

That toilet exploding didn't appear to be tannerite as there was only one bang.  I didn't hear a gunshot.

Tannerite has to be mixed on site to be legal and must be shot with a high velocity rifle bullet to be detonated. You can't wire up some Tannerite to a timer and some blasting caps and leave it somewhere for later or light the fuse on a bottle of it and throw it into a crowd.

Is a self-made video recording of a person detonating an explosive really enough for an arrest warrant? How are the authorities positive beyond a reasonable doubt that illegal materials are used in the construction of the device? I don't know the law very well yet a video without any corroborating witness testimony seems flimsy at best. Has the arrest warrant been made public?






MY suspicion is that the arrest is the product of a witch hunt, pure and simple. People that have guns, don't love Uncle Sugar, prefer to live out in the sticks, and likely have political opinions that are not favorable to Socialist government increasingly seem to be the ones under surveillance by Federal LE. I for one am very weary of the arrest of American citizens on terror grounds just because the US Attorney's Office says so. Where is the proof? Why sully a person's character if they are really guilty or wrongdoing? Let the facts speak and leave the sensationalism out of it. Like some one else has pointed out, innocent until proven guilty.
Regardless of her offenses, its too bad that by the time ATF and Holder's goons are done with this family she'll be very sorry that her paths ever crossed with the feds.

For an arrest warrant, proof beyond a reasonable doubt isn't needed.  Proof beyond a reasonable doubt is the requirement for a conviction.  For an arrest warrant, only probably cause is needed (shown via an affidavit).
