I need a thin alternative to a 1/16" cable ferrule. It doesn't need to hold 100's of #'s of weight, but it still needs to hold a bit of tension. I am turning an oval pulley track with a small electric motor, and the motor does't have enough torque to push the current ferrule around the pulley.

This is what I have.

I would like it to be as close to the size of the cable as possible.

Yes I know I can crimp that smaller . I still don't think it will help. I am looking for a process that might involve welding or something along those lines. Whatcha got??

You can braid the cable back to it's self...

It's not that difficult but it take practice.

Clear as mud

We used to make zip lines out of that metal cable. Seems like we would unwind some strands from each end of the cable. We would cut out some of the strands on each end, then re-weave to 2 remaing ends together.  I don't know how much they would hold but we never broke one.
