Usually you can get by with one monitor which is incomplete. It's almost always the EVAP monitor as it requires the strictest conditions to run. HTH I'm considering installing an aftermarket Down pipe on my car. It'll be catted but I suspect I'll still have a not ready from it. I don't actually have to pass at the moment but that can always change. I'd hate to have to change out the DP before getting tested. grrr. Thanks. |

The Georgia CleanAirForce website states that if you are testing early you can can have "many not readys" and still pass. It says that you can retest for free at the emissions station you tested at and failed for free within 30 days. Usually a Not Ready condition is do to someone resetting your ODBII codes. Usually you have to drive your car around for a few days to get the not ready conditions to reset back to ready.
The Georgia emission websites says to start your emissions testing 6-8 weeks before your registration expires so that you can retest until you pass without having your registration expire. Here is one website for confirmation of what is stated above. http://www.cleanairforce.com/motorists/testearly.php |

Out of those 8, one may be incomplete(not ready) and pass. If multiple monitors are incomplete simultaneously it WILL fail. Also, regardless of when you test(early or last minute) it is the same test following the same guidelines. Just getting it tested early doesn't make it more lenient. If you do fail, you can have one free retest at the station you originally failed at within 30 days. If you fail that, you have to pay for the next(if failed a third time, you get another free retest... pattern here). HTH |

Install it, drive around for a few days(GCAF recommends 1-2 weeks) and you should be GTG. If want to know before you have it tested, go to Autozone or the like and ask them to scan your car for codes. While they're connected ask if the monitors are complete or incomplete, and ask that they do NOT clear/erase the info. HTH ETA: Depending where you're located I can check the monitors for you if you need help, just let me know. |
