I may be buying a 1500lb safe from an individual and need to know who here might do it and how much it would cost to get it moved from Duluth to the Jefferson area.

Take the door off. Use the cardboard on the floor to help move it. that worked for me, but I didn't have any steps.

Also heard off golf balls and small PVC can also be used.

Do a search in the GA HTF.  I know someone had a safe moved recently for a very reasonable price.  I think the company was based in Lawrenceville.

Post up the name once you find it.  I will be moving in the next few months too.

I talked to these guys and they seemed to have it together. It was $3-400 for a 1000 LB safe

Yep.  Those are the guys.  They moved a 1600 pound safe for us for $400.  They weren't the cheapest and they weren't the most expensive.  But they did it right and very quickly.  Yes, moving a safe isn't just brute force lifting.

These guys will get more business from us in the future.

PAY SOMEBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had someone move my 900 lbs safe 8 miles.  Cost me 300 bucks.

I did not have to worry about my back, my body or anything.

They had the right tools, and years of experience.  They were the same guys who moved my safe when I bought it, when I moved it from my brother's house to my first house and then this last move.

If you fuck up, the worst that can happen is you literally kill yourself, but more likely you can get BADLY injured moving something like a safe of that weight.

I've moved my 750# safe twice, with little difficulty; however, I'd imagine that a safe weighing twice that would be just a tad different!

Same here. Cardboard, plywood (for grass/dirt), and a rented furniture dolly made it do-able with 4 guys. And beer.
