Hi All -
My company (AMEC E&I, Inc.) is putting in a proposal to provide staffing at a couple bases in Afghanistan. I think we've got a decent shot at getting the work. If we get it, we'll need to staff up to fill the positions. Some will be internal hires, but many will be new hires. Right now one proposal calls for 27 positions including an office manager, an architect, 4 engineers (civil, structural, electrical and mechanical), 3 construction project managers, a CADD operator, 2 housing specialists, a safety specialist, a maintenance foreman, 4 master electricians/electricians, a sanitary specialist, a master plumber, a lead HVAC mechanic, 4 HVAC mechanics and 2 carpenters. It's an 80-hour workweek (six 12 hour days, one 8 hour day), 12 weeks in country / 3 weeks R&R plus 3 days travel time. Paid travel to your home of record. R&R time is paid as a 40-hour workweek. Pay will be a 'normal' US rate for the industry with about a 2.9x multiplier for your in-country time. Living conditions will be in government facilities equal to how the military is housed. We're only collecting resumes at this point. If you're interested, or know someone who is, please PM me and I'll give you my email. |
