Killed this spike on Friday morning. 50 yard shot with a 55gr. Remington PSP through my RoundBelly Custom Shop AR15
Had a good blood trail to follow The Blood trail.
Nice hole.

Good job and nice firearm choice and hopefully many more will use the platform in the woods, pretty soon it will be a normalcy to most, seeing the black rifle being used to take game. Backstrap and related will be an especially tasty treat here at Christmas. I saw one taken out this morning, although it was while on my way home from an ambulance shift. The platform used was a top shelf Benz and the critter was launched about 25 feet into the air before landing off the shoulder of road. I had noticed the doe and slowed, the guy in the Benz..........Not so much. Tore that car up big time and came close to going through windshield. |

Our formerly badly run deer club is now AR-friendly, and will be getting more AR-friendly next year as the last of the douche-nozzles is shown the door. The two drunks will be gone, and the fudd-guns only guy is already gone. We will have some openings come January if anyone is looking for a club in Jones county at a good price. |

Nice pics video! Where is your club, approximately? I'm hunting around 5 points off Hwy 18, just north of Gray. I'm not shopping for a new place, just curious. Lotsa deer around here. We need more hunters in Jones county. I freezered out on opening day (2). On Rt 11 between Gray and Monticello ( Round Oak). We have a full freezer, too. My son shot a 9-point, and I got a big doe and this spike. |

A few weeks ago I killed a ~120lb 6-pt with my old trusty 16-inch "AR-15" in 7.62x39mm.
It was on my BIL's real-life-fantasy "deer property". I was given the green light to kill either a doe or a monster. I sat in a delux shooting house all day long. Near dark, I shot what I shot was a monster and called BIL to bring the 4-wheeler thing which he did. The deer went about 50 yds and to our mutual disappoint, it was a 6-pt. I guess he has to make up his mind as to whether I'm greedy or stupid. God I hope he lets me go back! |

I took this gal last Saturday. I had three nearly run me over while I was sitting on the ground, the middle doe was the only one I had a shot on. She was facing away from me but had her head turned back nearly 90 degrees leaving only a 45 yard, off hand head shot. The 64gr Powerpoint entered her left ear traversed the brain and exited the right cheek just behind the angle of the jaw. The vast majority of the brain was evacuated through both ears, nose and mouth. Needless to say she folded up right where she stood. You can see blood inside the ear in the picture. The quality aint good, all I had was my cell phone. This was the 3rd deer I've taken with an AR. The rifle started as a stripped Stag lower. Everything else is DD except barrel which is a 16" Lothar Walther. Scope is a 6x42 IOR (Thanks Shep!!) http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/vv102/dj7836024/ardeer.jpg Cletus send me some info on your Jones County property, Traversed. Evacuated. At least you didn't say "unit." |
