i don't think you have anything to worry about.

would have liked to see the puppy dogs win (and OSU lose tonight) just so bama has an unquestionable shot at the NC.  Personally, i don't think OSU even belongs in the conversation after losing to an unranked team, but some polls have them ahead of bama.

There is only one team that has a chance against LSU and that is Alabama.

OK State's porous defense would be destroyed by the Tigers.
Stanford's offense wouldn't score more than 10 points against the LSU defense.
VT, of the ACC? oh please, the Grayson Rams could win that conference.

Despite tonight's 2nd half, I am still impressed with CMR's turn around from an 0-2 start.
Hopefully Bobo will improve his play calling.

From the start I figured that UGA would lose. After the first half I was very optimistic.

I have never understood how halftime can make teams change so much.

I'm proud of the Dawgs, after that 0-2 start I thought this was going to be a long season.

LSU has a great team and should be Nat'l Champs when it's all over.

I got so disgusted that I turned it off in the 4th quarter. I hope that people do not turn on richt. I think he has done everything he can except catch the ball for them.

I am going to buy a bama hat next week to wear for their victory. Hell we probably would have won if it wasn't for the honey badger.

Dont you know, OSU( according to the media and a few others) is supposed to go because the only reason they lost that game was because it was an emotional time because those coaches got killed...........that's one of many reasons they are throwing around for OSU to go.................personally, as a Bama fan I think Bama should go, but we cant control that

I think LSU will go all the way, Georgia did real good this year but made a lot of mistakes along the way that continued to haunt them in the game against LSU. Les Miles must have had a pretty good speech going in the locker room to make that team come alive in the second half the way they did. SEC all the way!!

[#7]
All Miles had to say at halftime was, "just let those h.s.-Division 1 wannabes do what they know how to do."

Not having the training and/or discipline to watch a ball into your hands and incurring penalties at critical times are both diagnostic of the Richt lack of discipline.  LSU just had too much for UGA...way more depth at key positions.  Crowelll is an amateurish poser.

We need to hire a coach who won't recruit criminals and who'll discipline the players he does recruit.

Alabama had their shot at LSU. They shanked their way to an OT loss.

Ok. State won their conference, handily. They deserve to get a shot at LSU.

bama lost to the #1 team in the nation by 3 points in overtime.  they also held lsu to 9 points total, which is the lowest of any of their games this year.  it was their only loss this year.

conversely osu lost to iowa stare, that finished the season 6-6.  that is not indicative of a team that should play for a NC.

Finishing 2nd in your division is not indicative of a team that should play in a NC, either. Simple, win your conference if you want to win the right to play in the NC.

Bama LOST to LSU. They had their shot.

the only reason we're even having this conversation is because bama and lsu are in the same division/same conference.  if either were in another conference, there wouldn't be a debate, based on everyone's respective record.

If they were in a different conference, they probably wouldn't have played, already. The question would not have been already answered. LSU is better than Bama and have already proven it. If there is to be a "National" champion, there needs to be another conference champion to play for it.

"1255 Dogwood is where I am"

There is no BSC rule that states a team has to win their conference in order to play in the BCS game.

The purpose of the BCS is to match up the 2 best teams and OK State simply isn't one of them.
The pokes have no defense and the offense hasn't played a real defense IMO.

I would prefer a play off system but we don't have one so the best we can hope for is a match up of the two best teams.

i'd also add that for all the guys saying OSU deserves their shot, they had it already.  they had a chance to run the table, just like every other division 1 team.  had they done that, there would be no question who should play for the national championship.  heck, after alabama lost and to LSU, and they fell to number 3 in the polls,  OSU moved up to number 2, and all they had to do was win out, which they did, with the exception of lowly iowa state.

further, i'd be all for OSU getting a chance to be humiliated if LSU had dominated alabama.  they didn't.

I'd be willing to bet had LSU or Bama lost to a 6-6 team, neither one would be ranked as high as they are now................

That's as absurd as when Ohio State played for the National Championship against FL and was humiliated.  Okie State isn't in the same universe with the SEC.  I chortle when I think of how all the pundits were raving about how Hawaii was going to run up the score on UGA a few years back.  Hawaii couldn't have beaten Valdosta State that year!!!

There are more than enough "what ifs" out there. Most opinions stand on your like or dislike of the teams in the running for the BCS. I think OSU has a valid agrument for their shot, they did beat the piss out of OU in their conference championship. On the other hand, Bama is #2 and only lost to the #1 team in the nation in OT.

So is a conference championship a requirement for BCS, or is their record and toughness of schedule enough? A playoff system is definitely needed to alleviate all of this crap for sure. I hope Bama gets another shot, but if they dont, they dont. LSU is still the best team in the nation and will play whoever the BCS tells them to play.

(Note: For the record I am a diehard Bama fan, ROLL TIDE ROLL !!!!!)

One of the things i love about college football, and imo what separates it from the NFL, is that every game counts.  The pressure to win is felt on every single game day, and by and large this year, that quite simply isn't true.  Not only did every game NOT count, but LSU literally has nothing to play for.  I mean they have already beaten "the second best team in the nation" so what do they have to gain by winning again?  On the flip side, if they lose would it be a split national championship?  An LSU/UA rematch doesn't prove anything and is a waste of a game, IMO of course.

For years the SEC has hosted "the two best teams in the country" (maybe not by numbers, but in reality) during the regular season at some point.  The loser never gets a rematch, and i dont think it should start now.

As an Auburn grad i am clearly biased, however if had been Auburn in Alabama's spot i would still have the same feelings.

I think LSU needs to play and lay waste to the cowboys. Alabama needs to play whoever is #4 and lay waste to them. The Final poll will then have LSU at #1 & UA at #2 with the rest of the field where ever they reasonably belong.

Then for the next 20 years we can listen to how great the SEC is and have a lot of what-if Beer drinking discussions

Edited to add "and" because my sentence Nazi self felt compelled

When Ohio State played Florida, they were ranked #1 and undefeated. I believe that they were favored going into the game. That argument makes no sense.

The whole "not in the same universe as the SEC" argument is bullshit, too. We all know that the SEC is king, but not matching up teams, because you think that one conference is superior is nonsense. If they don't play, you won't know.

One more time. LSU beat Alabama. It is wrong for Alabama to lose their division and sit at home and play one less game, while LSU and Ok. State go on and win their conference, then expect to play in the NC.

just my opinion but OK St. deserves the shot. Everyone already know that alabama had their chance and blew it. I personally believe they are better than OSU but opinion don't matter, just wins and losses and bama lost straight up to the #1 team in the country. Yes I know OSU lost to Iowa State but in 07, LSU lost to Kentucky AND Arkansas and still made it to the MNC game, so this whole argument about who you lose to is garbage, or hypocritical at best. UGA was on fire that year and obviously playing the best in the country but the talking douches at ESPN came on immediately stating that a team that didn;t win its conference should not advance to the MNC game, funny how they totally changed their tune on that this year practically begging the voters to put alabama in, even though they didn;t make it to their championship game. ESPN is wanting bama in for ratings but their earlier matchup was one of the most boring games I have ever experienced. In the end it illustrated one thing, the BCS is broken and we need a playoff.
