What is the going rate of a standard M1A these days ?

| You sure can, but even new they are running around $1200. I saw one at big woods, some time ago for that price. You can pick up norinco hammer forged rifles IIRC for around $900 used. I have both and the norinco I got was great once I replaced the bolt.(because I wanted to not because it was bad) Just a thought. What were you thinking you wanted to do with it? Hunting or plinking? |

Back in the day Springfield was having a run of them that had what they called the "loaded" package. It was the same price as the standard and gave you free upgrades such as a NM barrel, etc. If you find one of those used, that would be a nice rifle as well.
Mine used to shoot 1" shot groups at 100 yards and it wasn't a supermatch, just a cheaper loaded edition. I got a nice scope mount for it and one of the old Springfield scopes at the time. |

My brother is looking at the mini 30 to hunt hogs with...He is a major fudd and I was trying to find him something better.
I suggested the ruger gunsite scout but he wants a semi auto so I said ok how about a m1a and he said he is not looking to invade a country
