I know a kid who is on Gwinnett mugs. His offense is listed as "Other Offense". WTF does this mean?

i do not work for them but i will venture a guess. It could have been an offense that someone is so rarely booked in on that it was not in the computer so they just put other offense.

ie. he ticked off a cop while not having his dog on his leash so the cop arrested him. I doubt the jail has the leash law violation so they checked other. I am not saying that is what happened but I have seen it before. Line officers / jailers do not usually have the authority to add new stuff in the system

This is a pretty good educated guess. It's what I was thinking when I read your post.  The real key is to find out what code section he has been charged with. Sometimes the booking codes are pretty generic (ie. Dangerous drugs, or other offense).

Edit to add:  Gwinnett County has a very informative online booking website. It should give you more specific information like actual charges, book in date, bond out date (or if he is still in custody) etc...
