So im in need of some supplies for paracord projects. Need some more cord and mostly parachute buckles. Anybody know of a good place that sells this stuff local to Hall or Jackson county ? If not a good web store would help. There are alot of places online that sell but you never know who to trust. Input is appreciated, Thanks !

No where close to you but Section 8 in Jackson, Ga has a decent selection of paracord, in both tan, brown, green, black, neon colors, as well as multi-colored stuff.  They have 100ft packs and even a few 1000' rolls.

What do you do with paracord? I saw a bracelet made from it once and I see the little design tassels people make and put on their knifes ... but why?

It's something to do.  I just finished up a rifle sling for my 30-30.  I've got about two or three dollars worth of paracord in it.

I get my paracord and supplies from lighthound and make bracelets, lanyards, and keychains on occasion.  Be aware though, that most of the colors are not true 550 cord.  If you plan on using it for applications where it needs to be very strong make sure you are actually buying true 550lb paracord.  On lighthounds website it will tell you which ones are and which ones are not.  If you just make small projects and wrap stuff with it, its not a big deal.  In fact, on most of the stuff i do (similar to what strycnine posted above) i remove the inner cords anyway so it really doesn't matter.

I like putting pewter skulls on my keychains and those can be a little tougher to find if you are looking for something original.

Make some things to sell like bracelets and few other things. Have someone who wants a sling. Personally I like to braid it in different ways and attach it to my hiking/camping packs and it has come in handy more than once. When you do need it it is easier to unbraid it rather than untangle it if carrying it just stuffed in a pack.

There are a number of YouTube videos of how to braid 550 cord, along with several sites with instructions for various projects, a big one is Stormdrane's blog.
