interesting thread.....I didn't even realize this was a problem......

what barrel are you using it on are they .635" of threads?

Most 5.56 barrels have thread tenon lengths from .600" to .650" in .5x28 tpi.  Most .22 hosts and, therefore, most .22 suppressors, have a tenon length of .400" to .450".  For a thread-mount suppressor you really should try to match the tenon length of the host to the thread length of the suppressor.  If the host threads are too long and protrude into the silencer, the exposed threads can get fouled.  This can make removing the suppressor difficult or even damaging to the suppressor and/or host.  If the host threads are shorter than the thread length in the suppressor, the exposed suppressor threads can become fouled.  That might never be a problem you'll notice until you try sticking that suppressor on a host with longer threads.

All this make sense?

If a guy really wants to play the game the BEST way, he'd have someone make him the proper spacer.  A "one size fits most" isn't going to be the best solution.

Sorry...It is a S&W 15-22

that would explain why my pilot gets stuck some time ..... and probably explains why it only happens on the one host with stock threads and not the hosts that were cut to AAC specs!

time to break out the calipers tonight and order some spacers!

I so miss the manufacturing shop here in McDonough. They made parts for Kubota Inc and had a full service tool and die shop and some damn good machinists.

They aren't threaded, no need.
