I need to remove a YHM handguard to install a new flash hider and I think I need a tool I don't have. This is my first FF experience and I was hoping someone around Athens could give me some assistance. Thanks, Jim.

Why do you need to remove the hand guard to install a flash suppressor?

Maybe it's close to barrel length and blocking the current muzzle device?

Yeah, I thought about that after I hit submit.    That is the only thing that would make sense.

I might have a YHM tool.  But, there cheesy little lock ring can be pretty easily tapped loose with the padded tip of a flat blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet.  (See, I don't just use claw hammers.  )

I am in Winder most days now and could maybe help.  Be glad to take a look anyway.

I have a take-off YHM carbine length FF tube if someone wants it...just come and get it. Also 3 or 4 sets of synthetic Remington 870 new take-off stocks and forends same deal...even throw in a good used wood set

Nothing wrong with it, I just got too many AR's with rail forends...so I decided to put together a lightweight rifle with stock hanguards. Plus i've been doing a lot of floor space reclamation this year too
