A while back I posted about a possible move to South Fulton.  Things worked out differently and it looks like North Fulton will be the new home.

Anything I should know?  Where to live?  Any chance of a few acres in commute distance?

You may be able to find some land in Milton but the commute downtown via 400 can be pretty rough.

Oh, shit, you have a LOT of options.  Even just over to Cherokee County, Woodstock can help you avoid some county taxes and possibly more land.  Up Hwy 140 or Hwy 372, even up towards East Cherokee Dr.

Thanks.

Yeah, that changes things significantly.  Forsyth and Ball Ground are viable options if you really want some land.

Stay away from apartment complexes in Roswell, especially off Old Holcomb Bridge Rd. ( just had a home invasion/kidnapping last week in one of them and perp fired at officers. SWAT came out and guy was arrested). Just one example of many exciting incidents that happen in those hellholes.  Forsyth County, which is north of Roswell and Alpharetta, or Cherokee County (cities of Woodstock, Holly Springs, Canton) have lower taxes (mine's $1200-1500/yr. for 3 bed/2 bath on 3/4/ acre in a subdivision.

I'd sorta like a place I can shoot a deer now and then...

You can do that in Forsyth county and Ball Ground.  Maybe even check out Dawson County

It is tough to find enough land in the area to really hunt on AND have a house that is a decent commute to work.(unless you have Shite-loads of money to spend)  Most people I know that hunt, either do it at WMAs / hunting properties or on friends land much further out.

Try using ziprealty's proximity search. Its pretty user friendly and you can put in something along the lines of a 4BR house, >5 acres, <10 miles from your office and it'll email you the new listings.

This is very true.

"But" from South Forsyth county or Cherokee County its a small ride to get to the National Forest in Dawson/Lumpkin Counties. I live in N. Forsyth and drive up to Blue Ridge WMA to turkey hunt quite a bit. Anywhere north of fulton county is a better bet than being in fulton county even without any hunting being considered.
