| Why don't you like your DSL? When I had it, I was running 6 mbps DSL from ATT. It was rock steady (I never detected an outage) over 4 years of use. I am on 10 hours a day for work with additional mucho messing around on the evenings and weekends. Plus there was no download cap like with Cumcast's "Unlimited Access". |

The front half of my subdivision has Uverse, but they never installed it in the back half. I keep calling and they keep promising a return call and resolution, but after 3 months of back and forth, I am done.
Are the Surfboard modems worth a damn? I see a lot of them on Ebay, but assumed that they suck since so many are available. |

I love being able to call their NOC and speak w/ someone who has a clue about networking. I even call them when we are having issues with our other ISP to ask questions or verify my findings. |

I agree, their NOC is top notch. |

We have multiple 200Mb/s Metro Es serving our East of the MIssissippi Offices. I NEVER get anything like that when I test. I'm visiting the office where those things are terminated some time soon. I'll have to try from there early one morning. |

I have heard that with cable modem, the more people on your branch of the cable that are on, the slower it gets. Don't know if it's true, but I can see it since it's a common feed as opposed to DSL. I don't see that manifesting itself. I used to do a lot of legal torrents. It was common to have 10Mbs throughputs for days at a time. |

Just something that several folks on cable modems had told me, but it could have been for other reasons. |

Shitty DSL plus a dying network card(New one on the way) http://www.speedtest.net/result/1282067970.png Wow, you'd be better off using dial-up in the meantime. |

update in post 1 Througput looks OK but the ping looks high... it's higher than your old connection. Did you run more than one test to see if it was a flyer? Yes, I ran about 8 tests on two different test sites. Consistently got the same reading. Now, I ran a few tonight and the pings were around 5 and the speeds were about 15-17mbs. More traffic in the evenings, I'm sure. |
