Anybody been to previous shows? Do they let you sit in any of the cars/test drive or is it a look but don't touch show?
|
| I went to it two years ago, and there was a shuttle bus that took us to an outlaying parking lot where there was a Chevy and Chysler test track. There I drive the H2, Pontiac Solstice, Impala SS at the Chevy track. At the Chrysler track, I ragged out an Aspen and a 300. Pretty fun. At the Chrysler place, one of the ladies said, "Your a cop aren't you. You drive like the other cops." hahaha |

I've been the past 4 or 5 years. It's great if you're car shopping, or like me, just love cars. It's not a "booth babe" car show really. I mean some of the dealers will have one car up on a giant lazy susan and will have a cute girl giving the little presentation. But she's in a pantsuit, not a bikini.
If you plan on going, go in the morning, as early as possible. Once it get's crowded you have to wait to get in most of the popular cars. I may be a heathen for saying this but the best day to go is Sunday, in the morning because most people are in church. That's when I'm going this weekend. Besides the major car makers, there's a few auto clubs that will have displays too. They're mostly classic cars or high end sports cars. They are all look but don't touch. Usually YearOne will have a showcase too. |

Looked at the vendor list....kinda looks smaller / the show is going down hill. The car makers list seems about right, but it has been getting smaller. I remember one year the car show spread across two sections of the GWCC, but, in 08 I think, they scaled it back because of the recession. The other vendors I've never really cared about too much. It's mostly toy cars, sham-wows, clip on sunglasses, etc. |
