Hey guys, for whoever is interested, there will be a Rib Fest competition in Fannin County on Saturday April 30th in the town of McCaysville. It's sponsored by the Tri Cities Business Association. This is a non sanctioned event, and is open to anyone wishing to compete and obviously if anyone is interested in coming up to check it out we would love to see you. If anyone is interested in competing there is a $ 50.00 registration fee. The fee covers the cost of the ribs you will cook and goes towards the prizes. 1st place prize is a plaque and $ 250.00. Anyone wanting rules and an application form, send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll make sure you get all the information. Feel free to let anyone else know

Thanks

Yes there will. Adults are 10.00 and children 6.00 each. You'll get a wrist band which will entitle you to sample from each of the cooking teams, there will also be cole slaw and chips as well as beans handed out. My understanding is you can walk around and eat until you are full. I'm one of the competitors and I'll guarantee whoever comes to my booth will be happy. I usually cook up extras to hand out too like ABT's ( stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon and smoked) I may even throw on a brisket or two. Just the ribs are being judged but if I'm firing up the smoker, I'm gonna load it up
