| At least as far as the Navy is concerned - that is all...... |

Cost cutting measures.
The Navy is adopting this technology. It will likely be surgical implanted on all SEALs. I am sure the EFV was canceled to fund the purchase of combat hair gel of SEALs

At least as far as the Navy is concerned - that is all...... I am not sure this is true. I know the spokesman, Maj Wes Ticer, at SOCOM who said they are moving forward with the MK17 (heavy) and droping the MK16 (light). NAVSPECWARFARE (Seals) may be able to choose a different platform, but I don't see any hard news or a press release from them speaking to it. Word (rumor) from SOCOM is the multi-caliber receiver is the future ticket. Hate to flame, but I am a public affairs officer and our #1 rule is check the facts before you go to print. |

The gentlemen that I spoke to yesterday is very much in the know as he has been a part of that project within the Navy and this is a very recent developement. As I said, this may be a Navy thing only and not necessarily an Army thing at this time. |

As for the Air Force, our SOF generally get the left overs from the Green B's and Rangers. But I know a combat controller who manages that entire communities equipment procurement. I know we had some MK16s and have some MK17's with the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron at Herby. I've always taken a personal interest in this story, as most of us have. |

at SOCOM Important to note that SOCOM is not beholden to the service specific equipment requests. Hence why they were rockin Crye MC long before anyone really thought much about it and why they still wear woodland BDUs. I know you may know this but others may not |

I got to eat dinner with a combat controller on a cruise a while back. First SF guy that I had ever met. Hell of nice guy, soft spoken, he was cruising with the hottest lady on the boat so I enjoyed dinner every night. I didn't pry about his service cause it didn't seem like he was real interested in talking about it. He had the look on his face of a man that had seen a lot of horrible shit in his life. |

I find that the CCTs and PJs I know are quiet, humble, near introverts, but always very nice. And you can imagine, as they support Green Beret and Navy Seal teams around the globe they see and do things they'd rather not speak of, so that we all can enjoy the freedoms we enjoy today.
I am just a spokesperson for them and the mission, and everyday I stand in awe of their abilities and accomplishments. Here's a little eye candy shot by an Airman (SSgt select in my shop). AFSOC airdrops Check our YT pages for more vids AFSOC You tube |

combat controller on a cruise a while back. First SF guy that I had ever met. In the future don't refer to AF special operations as "SF". In the AF, SF stands for "security forces" which aren't in the SOF community for the most part (pleas no zoomies mention 'raven teams'). SF typicaly refers to the Army's Special Forces Soldiers under the command of USASFC. |

Both belong to Army SOC. Air Force CCT, PJ and Special Ops Weather are SOF and belong to AFSOC. However –– AFSOC is building DAGRE teams: Deployed Aircraft Ground Response Elements, and while not SOF, they may be on SOF teams to do aircraft protection and other police work like evidence collection. They don't claim to be SOF either, but are doing much more training than RAVENs. |

But I had a run in with a lil senior airman in AFG last year who didn't want menorah the others gettin in "his" plane while we were loaded. Was the only time I showed my badge to one up and shut up someone |
