Thats just you. I suspect when you installed iTunes you told it to be the default player for that type of media.

There is also an app for Android phones if you don't like to drink the Apple kool-aid.  ;-) I know we have a lot of android users here.  I checked and there is a feed for Douglas County Sherriff and Police from RadioReference.com. Link to the app description is below.

On the radio reference website, you should be able to pick from several different players, including a web player.

Yeah Gwinnett County went to total digital AND scrambled...I assume it won't be long before most or all major countys do this due to the "smart criminal" using it to their advantage.

I think Douglas County's freq is 156.165.  But it may be short lived, i think they are due to switch over to 800 like everyone else has.

The website has a delay in the transmission. It can vary from 15-20 seconds to over a minute. While that doesn't mean criminals aren't using the scanner, it does pose a problem. It's also against the law to use a scanner while in the commission of a crime, but criminals don't follow laws in the first place so I doubt they'll worry about that one.
