Pulling into Pearl and rendering honors to the Arizona and her crew gave me time to reflect on what it must have been like all those years ago. At the time, I was around the same age, maybe 4 or 5 years older than most of those who died that day. Twenty years later, I've been able to do many of the things those guys wanted to do. Went to college, gotten married, had a couple of kids, provided for my family, reached middle age. Sometimes I forget how blessed I am.
Just like 9/11, I will never forget December 7th. |
