On vacation next week and I thought I might as well go and get started with getting my CCP. So the question is where do I go to get the paperwork started? I'm pretty sure it's around the Court house but not sure which building or department. Also what's involved?

It's gravy. Just go to your county probate court, fill out what amounts to a 4473 and index finger print, they should process it right there. Bring cash for the fee, some don't take checks or cards.
I applied about a year ago on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and the permit was in that Friday's mail. I think it was $55. |

The new probate court is right off 278 heading towards Rockmart on your right hand side.
Pretty large new facility that looks more like a school than a courthouse. Upstairs, off the elevator and hang a left...end of the hall way. I just did mine a few months back and had it in 3 days, wife redid hers last month and it took 5. |
