This morning my cell phone rings well before I normally leave for work and it's one of the investigators that works for the City PD where my shop is located.
Somehow he has broken the guide rod on his City issued Glock 22. How in the hell do you brake a Glock guide rod??? Never mind, I don't want to know. I replaced it with a titanium guide rod so that shouldn't be an issue from this point forward. TD |

I had a friend break one on his new 27 on the 3rd mag threw it. They next day aired him a new one and hasn't had a problem with it since. I'll offer him a factory replacement when they come in. The OEM guide rods were out of stock but I had a couple of titanium rods on hand. TD |

I bet it was one of the older guiderods that was made of a different plastic composition than the current ones. Were there any numbers on the head of the one that broke? All the new redesigned guiderods have identifying numbers on the head. they might have coined their slogan "perfection" a little to soon, eh? |
