TD- we have an old school one of those that uses spring loaded jaws that are padded. You can just throw a scope in there and then pop another one in there.

I'll see if I can find a pic.

I LOVE the spring loaded jaws...

They are exactly what I was looking for even though I didn't know what I was looking for.

Where can I get em?

Dunno, it came from a store we bought out.

It looks like gate hardware. I guess Home Depot or tractor supply will have something like that. Honestly I'd like to build 2-3 more.

TD, is that your shop?

For some reason I always imagined you working in some dingy, shadowy shop that looked like it came out of Legend of Zelda and Judge Dredd.

Those clamps are almost the same thing they put on the nicer broom storage racks, try to google broom storage clamps or pole storage clamps and see if any of those will work for you, they even make plastic/rubber ones that just snap on.

Unfortunately, that is my shop.

Something that looks like a cross between Zelda and Judge Dredd sounds like a lot more fun than the cheerful place I work

BTW: Zelda is my all time favorite video game. I can remember wasting MANY hours playing it on my old Nintendo console in the 80's.

First thing I thought of were the maglite auto mounts.  Except they're metal and too big.  It does resemble the setup I've seen at basspro, but they used plastic ones.

Here are a variety of similar spring-loaded clamps.  Just add a rubber lining to them (i would probably use heat shrink tube).

those are for hanging brooms/lighter shovels and pretty much all relatively lightweight, handled implements

edit: but you already knew that, cause Im not the first one to post that here!
