I'll be happy to shoot you with a high quality paint ball gun as you run for cover if that helps!

I've heard good things about David Blinder's "The Test".  I don't know if he is still teaching it but I know someone who took it last November.  The Test

I've been interested in a ECQC course from SouthNarc.  He is teaming up with Tom Givens for a course in Birmingham this November.  I'm not sure if he is using simunitions in this class.  SouthNarc

I love our simunition training.  I know its a little different than airsoft, but force on force training is a fantastic way to prepare for the real deal.  Of course how the training is set up and run makes all the difference in the world.

If you conduct your own FoF training, put 100 times the emphasis on safety. You are FAR more likely to get hurt or killed doing that than regular firearms traing because you are pointing very realistic looking guns at each other, and playing out realistic scenarios. It is imperative that no weapons or ammunition are pesent, including knives.

i agree keep the real shit in the truck !!! let me start by saying i really cant stand the airsoft crap on the market today but i do have to hand it to them because most of the nicer guns are a spot on match to the real thing thus being very good fof trainng tools .

SouthNarc is a great instructor and uses FoF scenarios(with sim guns)to reinforce and put his training to the test. I think Southnarc is probably THE Best in the country at ECQC type training with a firearm.

In Jonesboro....there is a new facility called Combat Hard. They have an indoor shoothouse and mat room. They do FoF using Simunition guns, airsoft and paint marking pistols. Steve Mosely, Paul Wages and Jon Minnihan are a class act and are awesome at what they do.  Their facility is bad ass too.

Combat Hard donated five training classes to a ride we had two weeks ago. I got lucky and was high bid on all of them. Hopefully I can do an after action report here soon.

We do this quite often in the Army. Pain is an effective learning tool because real bullets hurt worse

I am familiar with Steve and Pauls resume, but to be honest Minnihan has tons of training, but has never really been in the fight. I realize hes a certified LEO, but unless things have changed since I was his instuctor (8 months ago) at the academy hes not doing any LEO work. I'm not trying to dog him out, but being POST Certified and a Post Certified Instructor really doesnt mean shit unless you've worked the position.

I don't hold Jon's resume in any regard against him. He is proficient and a good teacher in his craft. I don't care if he has not been "in the fight" per se. That does not mean he is not capable or proficient at what he does. I'll agree.....Steve and Paul bring a little more to the table in terms of the big picture. But Jon has his niche as well. He rounds out the team and has other areas of responsibility that make Combat Hard what it is.

I've done force on force before. It was on a 2 way live fire range. have done it several times actually.

Anyway, with what kudzu said, yeah, the army does it a lot. You have to be proficient at stuff during very stressful times, or you could freeze up because you get lost trying to make a decision. Pain makes you come towards a decision. The only problem with FoF, is that its like a  "call of duty" type mentality, the whole, I killed you first type thing. The best way is to have an observer watching and pointing out whos dead. Thats the only fair way.

well as far as that goes you really dont know who killed who but the real thing is that you know in your head is that you did get shot and if this had been real you would be dead. it makes you think about it more than anything else. imagine trying to play foot ball but only talking about training and only playing two hand touch with your teammates, the tackle gives it the extra push the team needs to get their shit together !
