I believe the next month's installment of the Georgia Outdoor News publication will have a 'dove hunt' special on advertised pay hunts.  You could also search for shoots organized on WMA land.

There is a dove hunting club that goes to south GA every weekend of the season to hunt peanut fields. I'm sure you could find out more about it on GON

Dove fields are tricky at best.

I have seen several well prepared fields around here covered with birds until a week or so before opening day.

A neighbor will ramp up their baiting practices which are usually illegal and pull the birds off other fields.

Been thru that before.

The best time i ever had was on a field on fort benning. my dad and me walk on a field saw alot of birds, we picked out 2 spots. It turned out that US Army Skeet team was on it also. These guy where fun to shoot with. I was under a tree in the middle with in talking distance of one. If it flew by us it was going down. He gave me some shooting pointers and i was knocking them down on the first shot. i even had my first double that day.

As others have said hit the GON dove issue. Usually they run $100-$200 for opening day, then go down after that. Also depending on what they offer in terms of lunch or amenities.

Every field is different. I have had some that were awesome, and some that were ok. Always have shot birds but sometimes it is just up to the day as to how good it is. When you get on the field always figure out the natural routes into the field and set up on that side or corner as it can be the difference between a good or bad day. And get a few boxes of #6 because some fields will naturally get high flying birds and the tighter / heavier patterns can sometimes get a little more distance on those birds.

Also get one of the mojo dove decoys..... it will draw birds to your side alot more often. I won't hunt a field without one at this point. I have had doves come from the other side of the field and lock up right above the decoy and give me an easy shot even after 4-5 people missed it because it was high and fast.

Be very careful to double check if there is baiting going on, even if you didn't know it and you get caught on the fileld you are getting a ticket. (happened to several friends last year)

The good thing is getting together with some great people and have a good day. Dove shoots in the south tend to be as much about socializing as dropping birds. Just get out and enjoy.

This year our company is sponsoring a hunt and leased a top notch field for employees and clients. Supposed to be absolutely covered in doves.
