i have been trolling my local craig's list for the last few months, tentatively looking for a roll away tool cabinet.  i've seen lots of snap on, matco and mac for $2k or better.  i don't make my living turning wrenches, and those were just a little bit out of my price range.

anyone, i managed to snag one last night.  stainless, ball bearing, auto retract drawer slides, 41" wide and about 60" tall.  made by Steel Glide.  It is not a Snap-on, but at $175, I couldn't say no.  as near as i can tell, it is a box that sam's club sold about 5 years ago, for $800 or so.

The guy that had it before me was a sticker fiend.  Here is how it looked when I picked it up:

Unfortunately, the front had the fewest stickers on it.  Both sides, and the inside of the top hinged compartment were completely covered.  I spent about 1.5 hours this morning stripping them with a pressure washer.  It got most of it, but left some gummy residue in some places.  I then spent about 2.5 hours with a combination of goof off and acetone removing all the sticker residue.  i need to lube the drawer slides, reline the drawers and i can start loading it up.

It isn't perfect, but it will definitely work for me and my needs.

How'd I do?  (this is the 1st thing i would consider a "deal" that actually turned out to be a legit listing on CL)

That is a GREAT score in my opinion!  I inherited a Craftsman from a friend who moved.
