Why some benchmades are to be sold to leo's and active duty only. and if caught with them is it a felony?

| Not a felony to own one. It might be to carry one on your person, not sure what the new changes to the conceal and carry laws are, was thinking that permit holders will now be able to carry knives, automatic or otherwise. Hopefully one of our resident lawyers will clear that up for us. |

It's unclear to me. The only place In the the as-signed SB-308 I can find a specific reference to "switchblade" is in section 1-4 which defines weapon for the purpose of stipulating carry in or on school property. It's a misdemeanor if you have a GWL, a felony if you don't. Barring no other mention, it seems that if you're not at a school you should be GTG. I, also, am not a lawyer thought. There may be a mention in some other code section. FWIW I carry an H&K model 14750 auto. It's made by Benchmade.
