Anyone familiar with the camping and range? Was wanting to take my oldest boys out there this week and had to see see if anyone here had the 411 on the area.

Don't know about any camping, but the range is good to go imo. Outdoor about 80 yards long with a rangemaster, and it's free. Make sure to bring your own targets and stands.

MGs are still a no no, but suppressors are now GTG. (Per 2009/2010 hunting regs regarding legal weapons on WMA ranges)

Yep.  I've been there a few times with suppressors.  And SBRs.  And MGs (but shot semi only ).  The range guys keep the BS factor way down.  Both guys I've met were very common sense dudes who let me draw from a holster, do failure drills, double taps, etc.  No problems as long as the bullets are going where they are supposed to go.

The roof used to be so low as to make shooting standing all but impossible except on the short berm, has that changed Book?

Nope.  Same roof.  It is low but has never interfered with me shooting pistols or rifles standing.  I am 6' tall too.

I found a campsite about 2-3 miles from there in the WMA. So this all sounds good. Gonna go get the boys up about 5am and make em bug out. I got most everything prepped for them. This should be interesting. Pics will follow.
