please click here and here and flag both of these ads.

this guy started spamming my local craig's list last week.  i asked him if it was necessary to post his ad 4 times a day (he actually did the day i asked) and he proceeded to tell me what an ass i am.

it isn't like macon's craigslist is high traffic page...all 4 of his ads were still on page one.

What can we search for to find these ads he is posting?

he owns some kind of hauling business, based in junction city, (BFE) GA.  I don't know why he is advertising in macon, because junction city is 1.5 hours west of macon, and he is only quoting delivery within 50 miles of his location.

here is a link to main page of the macon farm and garden list.  his ad will say something like: crusher run for your driveway, sand, gravel or something similar.  he has 3 pictures that he recycles...1 of a red peterbilt tandem, and two different pics of the same kenworth with purple trim.  there is a yellow new holland skidsteer  in one of his pictures of the kenworth.

thanks for the help guys.  if i was smart enough to be able to change my IP, i could take care of it myself.

My question is why are you so worried about it?

The man is trying to make a buck, just because you are in the Macon CL doesnt mean that ONLY people from Macon look there.

Trying to make it in the trucking business is terribly hard, if the trucks arent moving they arent making any money.  From the looks of his prices they arent bad for a load of delievered material.  He is just trying to make a buck.

why do you have to always be the consummate contrarian?

i politely asked the guy to stop spamming, (which is against CL rules) and he had to get all snippy.  if he was posting the ad once a day, i'd be perfectly fine with it.  when there are about 20 ads a day posted total, and 20% are his it gets to be tiresome.

it is no different than bumping something in the ee here every day.  try that, and see how long your ad lasts.

I'm trying to see the problem here. do you own the list?

are you a competitor and are concerned his excessive ads are unfair?

are you mostly concerned with "netiquette"?

Craigslist is policed by the people using it. There are no mods to go around removing ads. The rules say to not post that many times in a day. The rules also say if you see something against the rules, flag it.

Ok, I agree with the USERS of Craiglist policing it.

But to come to a forum and to say "hey this guy is breaking the rules please tell the CL police on him, even if you have no idea or any clue as to what it is just flag it for the reason I said" is pretty fucking petty and childish if you ask me.

Now if other actual USERS of the Maconga Craigs list had a problem with it they would flag it as well.  IIRC it only takes 3 to 5 flags to have something removed.

I was asking the OP, mattellis2. I see what you mean, though...

there's a difference between trying to police a list that you have an ad on and coming to another list and asking for support in bombing some spammers ad.

I just wanted to know the motivation...

No motivation beyond I was tired of reading the guy’s crap, asked him to refrain nicely, and he decided to be a dick about it.  I am not a competitor in any way, shape or form…I am an engineer that rides a desk for the most part.  As I said, if he wanted to post it once a day, I’d have no problem with it.

I am starting to see a trend here.  Are you some kind of net nanny?  You are the same guy that got all upity when you thought I was trying to make a buck on a glock last month.  Has life been unfair to you?  Are you mad at everybody else?  What is your deal?  Why do you feel a need to make sure everybody is doing what you feel is right.  Why do you even care if it doesn't directly affect you.  Not trying to flame, but wondering why I am constantly seeing you stick your nose in other peoples business.

ok... it was interesting at first to see who is more persistant - the poster or the flagger.  Now it is starting to get old.  Let us know when he has multiple posts on page 1.

$350 for a load of crush and run?!?!  Geez... I thought I was paying a lot when the place I use upped their price to $300 (it was $275 2 years ago).
