I live in Auburn, AL and was wondering does anyone know of any shops or anything around the Columbus area that would have some quality AK receivers?  Web sites would work too, but I'm trying to get around having to pay the FFL transfer fee.

I frequent most of those shops and have never seen an AK receiver.  Barrow will probably have the best prices.  It's about an hour and a half away though.  shooters has a really screwed up transfer policy so be carful with that

+1 for the entire statement espically the part in red I have never seen a striped AK receiver anywhere but Shooters does have a few complete to choose from.

A few years back I found an AK (to be exact) online for $200 I went in and asked them how much they would charge to do a transfer. I was asked what type of gun it was, I stated an AK, They said like that one right there, I said yes, they asked what I could get it for online, I said $200. Theirs was marked $350 and I was told they would charge $150 to do the transfer

Needless to say I use other stores to handle any transfers.

range control had some awhile back. when the origanl owners had it, ( Jim, Doug jr, and SR) when they had their old ranger buddies and EX SF coming thru the shop.
