OK, a bunch of people have posted about living or working in this area, but Doug is the only one I've met.  Anybody want to meet for lunch sometime?  I live over by Blackwell and Canton and work near Bells Ferry and 41.

I'm right in the area....but you guys wouldn't like me.  I tend to eat at hole-in-the-wall places and my favorite Waffle House on Bells Ferry. For those who don't know, that is MY Waffle House.

That reminds me.  You should have seen when the homeless-looking guy walked in and practically mauled the waitress who was serving my wife and me there (about a year ago, I think - time flies).  He got right up near her and begged for a dollar.  When the older, white waitress behind the counter gave him four quarters from the cash register, he thanked her and then asked our younger, black waitress for her phone number.

"I don' guess I could get yo number?"
"Um, no."
"Why not?"
Long pause... "I have a boyfriend."
"What his name?"
"Umm... Derrick." (It looked like she obviously just made up a name off the top of her head)
"Okay," he said as he tucked the quarters in his pants pocket and walked out.

We all laughed about it once he was gone, but she looked shaken a little.

I couldn't believe anyone would beg for change and then try to score with someone right there who saw him begging!  That Waffle House entered the hall of fame in my head at that point.

We lived in Falcon Hills off Shallowford Rd for 8 years but moved to Woodstock a couple of months ago.  I haven't been to that Waffle House since then, and we used to go a lot.  I need to find one closer than the one on Hwy 92 near the post office.  It's too far away.

Yeah weird stuff happens there a lot.....mostly when I'm not in town.

I have old buddies from high school who enlisted or went Guard and I hear about them going in there and causing trouble all the time....

Everything from custody battles to fighting over cigarettes to arguing about "who's truck is loudest" and then going outside to actually try and prove it.

Whenever I'm around though everything is calm, even when some of the same guys do come around.....I miss all the "exciting" stuff.

I like burgers....Waffle House has burgers...I like the people who work there, they know my face and my table.

I'm at the Old Chastain / Blackwell / Canton Hwy. triangle, would be great to put some faces with the threads and posts.

I am pretty easy on the food choice but awful waffle, steak n shake or varsity would be my three choices, I bet there are about a dozen of us within rock throwin distance.

You seem like the type that would have eaten at Carey's on 41 when it was still open, never been a better hole in the wall place.

I'd do it...but being my age....I could only OC my rifle...if you REALLY wanted.

Big pie was thrown around, that's cool. While I love waffle house there isn't a way to seat more than 4 adults at a table so if there is >4 of us going we should probably pick a place that can hold everyone together. I'm down with OC but we must always be mindful not to spook the sheep.

Hmm......we COULD plan another Big Pie attempt.

Though we'd have to wait for March to do that. I'd go in as a partner.

I frequent the Waffle house on Canton road, near 75 by the machine rental place.  Although it's usually a weekend night when there's nothing else open.

Big Pie is great... can't beat their $5 lunch special.

Of course there's Hooters Wingsday special (wednesday), and usually a trip to Tilted Kilt at least one day a week.  Several good choices in this area.

So I take it the stealing of Doug's idea to meet up for lunch after the RK show on the 23rd didn't make it anywhere?

Although if you are set on OC a rifle just to get a response I won't have any part of that foolishness, especially with the new legislative session in and we are asking for so much!

There hasn't been one yet.  I normally eat lunch with my coworkers on Friday at Olde Towne Tavern and Grille on Cobb Parkway, but can meet on just about any other day.  Steak and Shake has been mentioned by several people and is acceptable (almost ate there last night, in fact, until daughter started drooling about On The Border while we were out shopping).  I will most likely NOT be OC'ing, I prefer not to invite extra attention from The Man, even if it is perfectly legal :-)  (not that I never OC, but I try not to scare the sheep too often, and I don't know any of the CCPD officers in that area).

Well, it's 11:30, I can meet someplace anytime in the next hour :-)

If I don't hear anything by 12:15, I'll probably just head to the house and heat something up.
