Well i picked up my new rifle today, it's a Bushmaster 25th anniversery. I got it for $850, did i pay too much, it's lightly used and not a scratch on it.

Its a fake Bushmaster and I made that fluted barrel with my Dremel

With the exception of the engraving it looks exactly like my Bushmaster Modular Carbine, that rifle has been nothing but great to me and was purchased the Monday morning after the clinton ban sunsetted.

Welcome to the club!

Now, stick a collapsible stock on it and hit it with Krylon.  Then throw a few thousand rounds through her.

Nice blaster.

i hated the ace ltd stocks when i first saw them, but after shouldering the rifle it feels great, 1 inch shorter than the collapsible stocks are when fully extended. Might change it later, but not sure, gonna find some optics first. oh yeah, i might save the krylon for later, after it gets scratched up atleast, lol.

Ditto on the good looking rifle.  I bought my first pistol (Browing HP) from Franklins way back in '93.  I always have intent to run through there when I'm in Athens but usually too pressed for time.

Well the marked prices there were a little higher than other places, but i talked to i'm guessing the owner, and he said they will negotiate prices unlike most places nowadays, plus they don't charge a processing fee which was unbelievable to me, don't know if i'll make the drive back up there for a while but i'll deff. be getting my brother to pick me stuff up, and the rifle looks and feels great, themore i pick it up the more i like the ace stock, having a collapsible is nice, but the ace makes the rifle feel much more solid, hopefully i'll get to shoot some this weekend.

The rumor I'd heard around Athens (forget where) is that all the guns in Franklin's are actually owned by Andrew Clyde, who took over after Franklin's kept having trouble losing their FFL. Any truth to that?

ETA: btw nice rifle!

My lil bro said that he doesn't know where that rumor came from, and the guy who owns the place is Mark.

Nice find!  I'm not the biggest fan of the Ace stocks, but I have one on my DPMS.  I prefer adjustable.

almost got a AR 6.5 grendel with a stainless barrel build that was there, but ammo is harder to find and i don't reload, then i saw this, now i just gotta find a rail sling mount and a sling.

where did you find the 6.5?  was it jsut the upper?  also what was the barrell length.

[#22]
honestly don't remember the barrel length, the gun is at franklins, not just the upper, alexander arms 6.5 upper on a stag lower, free float tube with stainless barrel, used but really tight gun and looked like very few rounds had been through it, prolly coulda got it for around $1,000 or less.
