I'm looking into doing some classes, and don't really know what to look for. I have never done any sort of AR class and don't know what to expect; anyone have any advice?

Joe runs a great class up at creekside. There are a few others that post up, but I haven't taken them yet. Joe's is the only one I have experience with.
I don't see any scheduled right now, but keep an eye open.

Appleseed shoots are a very affordable source of basic shooting instruction (even more experienced shooters can benefit from reviewing the basics once in a while ).

I hope to find an AR class at Creekside that I can make work around my work-schedule.

I've been looking into doing a class as well.  Hopefully Creekside will schedule one soon.

My problems are summarized as:

1. Ammo availability & costs for said ammo.
2. Time (3 kids under ten)

I really, really want to go to one of these & I'm scrounging up whatever $'s I can. Maybe next year...

I second the Appleseed events, and they are generally kid friendly if you needed to bring one or two with you.

What about the Magpul videos, they have two 3 or 4 DVD sets of carbine operator training. I had thought about checking them out myself as new and improved items in there I'M sure...Urban tactics, CQB, etc...

Thunder Ranch also has some decent videos.
