I just had a couple of guys come to my house trying to sell meat and fish. My wife beat me to the door and the guy was looking in the house when I saw him I looked at his truck and it had no markings and what looked like a beat up icebox in the back. No phone # no ID on truck..
The guy was knocking on the door loud and was dressed in a tee shirt and shorts.. He saw me behind the wife and started walking away.. Went to the the neighbors house and as he walked away I caught him and told him to leave the neighborhood.. He hit 2 more houses and left, still scoping everything in the neighborhood.. My wife called the sherriffs dept, but they had already been called... I smell a rat... Y'all just tell me I'm paranoid and I'll feel better Speed |

Yep.....he came here too. I got the tag and vehicle description and called. He pissed me off when I came home as he was parked in the middle of the road and on the front porch ringing the doorbell at a house 200 yards from his truck. I smelled what you smelled.

It took me walking out of my garage with an 870 to make the meat guy go away a couple of years ago.
My wife and a few female friends decided to be nice and look at his meat until they got tired of it. The told him no thanks and thats when the high-pressure sales started. He was blocking my driveway and 3 guests needed to leave. He said he wasn't going until someone bought some meat. When his SO saw the shottie she said "GTF in the truck" he did and that was the end of it. I don't think he meant any wrong just young and stupid. |
| where was this? in east cobb, they usually stay in the street, out of the driveway....never had a problem....its when you say no and they dont leave is what would piss me off.....ive bought a few things from the guys before- i guess it just depends on who you get! |
I haven't seen them around here for awhile, but we had "somebody" knocking on the door last week at lunch time in the middle of the week  I didn't open the door.....we have a few roofs getting repaired on the street and I think he was from one of the roofing company's.
My neighbor chased some fool up the street last year when he was on the front porch trying to sale something and started spraying his "product" all over there porch while talking out of his head  We don't open the door around here...last time I did I had the pistol behind my leg and it was two of the deacons from the church we had just joined  I'm standing there giving them the WTF look and one of them lifts up a little Welcome Bag with the Church's Name on it...I felt like crap lol We couldn't get them to come in and sit down

I get all kinds of people knocking on my door.
The other morning it was the Jehovah Witness', I went to the door with pistol on hip and opened the door, they asked how my morning was going. I told them that they interrupted my morning session of internet porn and masturbation then extended my hand in a friendly gesture to shake their hands but neither of them accepted the offer. They then decided that they would ask me about religion and I told them I blieved in the higher power of Gaston Glock and they decided that they would just leave. I dont think that they will return. |

| I had some of the meat salesmen show up here a couple of years ago. A black guy knocked on the storm door and my 90 pound German Shepard hit the door whith her teeth, the black guy jumped back 5 feet to the porch railing and went pale. (never saw a black guy turn pale before) He took off before I could say anything to him. His truck did have a company name and info on it. About a month or so later someone else came back and this time I did talk to him and he made the comment saying you're the ones with the dog. I found out that he was driving that day and he said the black guy up and quit after the encounter with my shepard. |

These folks are actually on our neighborhood watch list and the Sheriff's Dept wants to talk to them Could you IM me the tag on the truck so I can forward it on. Yhey actually tried to force a neighbor into buying something.

The solicitor entered two open garage doors in the daylight and spoke to the residents about purchasing meat. In one instance the solicitor became angry with the resident when they would not make a purchase. This subdivision, as well as the majority of yours is clearly posted “No Soliciting”. This means that only non profit groups may solicit in the neighborhood (Girl Scouts, School booster clubs, churches) As always, please be vigilant and keep your vehicle(s) locked at all times, and remove any electronics or items of value from plain view. Most entering auto incidents the Sheriff’s Office responds to are not cars that have actually been “broken” into; the thief simply opens an unlocked door and removes any items within the vehicle. Please keep your garage doors down even during daylight hours. An open garage is simply an invitation for a thief to steal items within your garage. Please keep your house doors locked especially if you leave for any amount of time. Please keep your exterior lighting on at night. When shopping, please be aware of your surroundings. Do not display large amounts of cash or credit cards. If possible please carry a small wallet with your cash and credit cards in your front pants pocket. If you must carry a purse, please carry one as small as possible or secure it to the buggy to prevent it being removed when your back is turned. We get the same white truck in our area (west Cobb) about twice a year. Never had any problems they seem to leave when we say no.
The older lady on the hill seems to get stuck talking to them for about 30 min each time. She is just to sweet to say go away. She never buys anything just talks to them. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

These door-to-door meat guys are BAD NEWS. Trust me; I've worked a few investigations involving members of some of the local crews. Those outfits are mostly pyramid-type schemes staffed by druggies, probationers and worse; the drivers and sellers have to "buy in" to the company and only the man at the top ever actually makes money. One case I recently worked lead me to meet with one of these companies for some employee information. The manager had NOTHING on his employee (whom he sends into OUR neighborhoods every day) except the guy's first name; no social, DOB, DL#, nothing... shady, shady, shady! Be VERY wary of these guys and gals in your neighborhoods... Situational awareness and safety first, my fellow HTF folks!

As for the meat salesman... I would tell him to hit the bricks if I had the misfortune of being outside when he came driving up. Otherwise, we don't answer the door either at my house. If you don't look like a UPS or FedEx man (and then only if I am expecting a package), you get ignored. |

Had a white ford ranger with a freezer in the bed show up two weeks ago at our house in Dalton. Young thug/punk tried to sell me meat. He left when I told him no. He walked door to door selling it to the neighbors. Parked his truck down the street.
He gave a bad vibe also. We have had folks wanting to sell carpet and wood floor cleaning supplies, ADT security systems, ect.... All of them have ATL tags - why don't yall keep them in ATL so I don't have to worry about them up here
