I have a close friend who had a Glock 27 stolen out of is car in Atlanta last night. They left his GPS and wallet. I will have the serial number later.

Serial number GDG220
Here is what the door looks like, easy to see how they didnt notice right away.

Was the pistol visible? Was he at a store/bar or in his driveway? Any other details?

Pistol was in a locked car in the glove box with a GPS and his wallet. They couldnt figure out how someone got into the car until the cop that showed up pointed out the tiny little hole just underneath the passenger door lock. Apparently a small screwdriver slammed into that location provides easy access into most modern day cars. He is waiting to get back to Dahlonega to get the serial number off the Glock box. The car was in a parking lot somewhere in Atlanta.

yeah, i heard the lookout on this pistol come over the radio shortly after the report was taken.

weapons are not secure in vehicles, so i am forever disappointed.

Tuffy and some other makers have backplates available as a countermeasure for the easily entered CHEV/GMC vehicles.

A glove box is neither smart or secure IMHO.

$37 sounds cheap for that.  I wonder how hard it is to install and how thief - proof it is?  I also wonder why GM does not install it?

I want to punch that guy in the picture, or administer a good pistol whipping.

Why, is he doing it the wrong way?

If someone is gonna break into my vehicle.....I just wish they would take the whole damn thing.

A group of us were in Tulsa two years ago shooting the Production Nationals. We drove my Avalanche out there. We got to our hotel late and wanted to crash after the drive. So we grabbed our gear and checked in and crashed. I left my GPS in the windshield. I was tired and it slipped my mind to pull it out of sight. Well....that night 4 cars were hit. The drivers side windows were knocked out of all the cars to get the GPS's inside along with whatever else was in reach. We came out of the hotel that morning to a pile of glass and a ransacked truck. Luckily we brough our competition guns in the room with us. But they still got plenty of stuff high in monetary value.
I would have been happier if they would have just taken the whole damn truck instead of busting my window. That was a mess trying to work around not having a window. I was finally able to get it fixed the morning we were heading back. The worse part was.....it rained on us most of the time.
