I heard it was a movie about blue sausage. 
My co-workers went to see it yesterday morning while I was having donuts with Dad at my daughter's pre-school. 5 our of 6 of them wanted their 2 1/2 hours back. We're all late 30s/early 40s. The guy who liked it is 25, so it might be a cultural/age thing. |

| I saw it tonight, I thought it was good but I never read the graphic novel. I felt the movie was too long, but it looked good. The problem I think really was that most movies are light on story and heavy on filler, this movie took the story that was long enough but ALSO added in the filler. So you had a movie that was probably good for fans of the comic that felt long for a regular movie and supposedly this is the cut down version, I heard the directors cut will be almost 4 hours long and be true to the comic. There was a lot of 'look at the cool scenery' shots that added quite a bit of length to the film and even though there was a lot of 'blue sausage' as stated above I thought the sex scene(with the cute chick too that still didn't balance out the tons of wang in this movie) was just adding further to the thing being too long. I think after the hype has cleared this weekened this movie is going to get smoked by some other films coming this year in terms of box office takes, honestly I've been to long movies and other movies of a similiar vain, but while I like this movie, about 2 dozen people behind me walking out of the theatre were saying things like "this movie was stupid", "that was boring", "that didn't make sense", "that movie was just too long" etc. Those people probably represent a better part of the average and if that is what they say, I don't expect it to ultimately to do very well. |
