It looks like I'm going to be moving to Winder in the next month or so. What do I need to know?
Any decent local gun shops? FFL's that I need to make friends with? Local shooting ranges? Any place decent, or should I plan of driving back to the Athens Rifle Club? Good places to eat? |

There is Dixie Ammo in Hoschton.
PSI is not far away. Barrow County Sheriff's Department opens there range to Barrow residents the first Saturday of each month. The nearest 100 yard WMA is Charlie Elliot. Wilson Shoals is closer, but is only about 80 yards. I read somewhere that they were talking about lengthening it, but I don't know how much there is to that. |

There is a 650 yard range just on the other side of athens called guns site hills.
Gun site hills This is my favorite range to visit when I can find time. |
I live there and its a crap hole, nothing to do, no gun shops, no places to buy reloading components...the only thing good in Winder is my gun safe and my family.
