Looking for a range that allows SMG shooting - thought Creekside did but see on their website -
No rapid fire from the rifle range unless cleared by the range master on site: Maximum 1 round every 3 seconds Anyone know what the deal is? |

SMG's are allowed in the pits which are for the most part members only. I am sure that if you were to ask Joe directly he may let you with his supervision during the week.
The reason that the rule is one round every three seconds is due to the distance. Most people have a hard time controlling something in rapid fire and would over shoot the berms at 50 and 100 yards. In the pits you can step up to within 20 feet or so and all rounds SHOULD go into the berm at that distance. Rangemaster does have the ability to allow certain folks to bypass the rule. I am usually working as range master on saturdays over the 50 and 100 yard lines. I have allowed some folks to perform double taps at 50 yards when they were the only folks on the range. The reason is simply for safety. Become a member and you now have access to the pits and can shoot in there when they are available and not being used for classes and you can shoot SMG's in there all day long. Just invite me over for a little trigger time if you would for a short burst. |

Yeah i read it. Since you only show up once every 6 weeks or so, you wouldn't know that I am there 80% of the time. Get a membership and you won't have to worry about it anymore.
You know I AM JUST GIVING YOU A HARD TIME. You need to give me a call before you come. Adam described it to a tee guys. I am the only one who can clear any automatic fire. I understand all can't be members, in that case you need to get with me to be able to do this. |
| We were up a few weeks ago and I bought a family membership for myself and the wife. It was late in the day as we were leaving, so I didn't get a chance to really get into the details of using the pit. Lets say I come up on a weekend day (I know Sunday is members only) and no one is using the pit - what is the procedure for me to set up there and shoot on my own? Nothing automatic, but I would like to practice some double taps. |

When I sighn in at the range shack I normally tell Billy im going to the big or lil pit..dont know u have to, but I always do....drive around to either pit...joe has target stands and stakes to set up targets....as long as u are not doing anything stupid u can run threw any drill u want |
