I got some different powder I wana try, but I didnt have time to load anything up with it... I measured out 48 grains of Varget and it damn near filled up the case gotta do some more digging

Well Fro man I think you are gonna be on your own this go round ...... but then again I dont know. I think I might just have to shoot Joes gun this time round.
He said that I couldnt shoot my cannon cause it will tear up his steel plates. I said hell you dont have to worry about me even hitting the damn things. |

I guess I threw to much stuff out there...I have the varget but havent tryed it yet...I found a load under Hodgons web site and it called for 48 grains of varget...I put in 46 and it damn near filled the case so I didnt use it...
Load Im running now that got me those #'s 43.4 grains of BL-C(2) 175gr Sierria CCI Primers 20 in barrel with a Can |

Mike, we need to get together at Creekside one weekend. I'll bring my rifle and some of the load that I got left over to try on your rifle. I'm happy with 155 Scenar, 45.5 gr of H4895 with either Rem or Lapau brass. I thought about going 168's these 175's are $$$ and a bitch to find without ordering... |

So order them-they're usually cheaper than what you'll find locally anyway. I'd give up a 175SMK for a 155grn bullet-but I wouldn't for a 168SMK. |

what would be good/bad of going to a 155? You can push a 155 much faster than a 175SMK. A 155 Lapua Scenar, while advertised as having a higher BC than a 175SMK, in reality (and Jason can confirm this) it's about on par with the 175SMK's BC. So basically you're taking a bullet with the same flight aerodynamicness (is that a word?) of the 175SMK and pushing it much faster. The result is much less drop and better wind performance at long range. The Scenar is generally recognized as the 155grn bullet to go with as it has the higher BC compared to the 155SMK, Nosler or A-Max. I personally have switched (or I should say am switching, since load development isn't done yet) to the 155 Nosler Custom Competition as it has a decent BC (on par with the 155SMK) but is significantly cheaper than both the 175SMK and 155 Scenar-to the tune of $23 per 100. I used to use the Berger bullets pretty heavily-even as their prices increased, but they've priced themselves out of the market now and I won't buy the products. I'm wanting something so that I can get as much practice as I can for a good price. Striving for the perfect 1000yd load, when the nearest 1000yd range is several hours away is no longer a requirement for me and if I can get great performance out to 700yds or so, then that's perfect-and ballistic data is showing that I should be able to do just that with the 155 Nosler out of a shorter barrel. |

Bill thanks Ill look into the 155's I like the $ ...$35 per 100 gets pricey...were are u finding them? Midway? |
gotta do some more digging
