I, my wife, and several co-workers have not received absentee ballots yet.  I checked online and the gov website says they were mailed to me on Friday.  Mail usually takes 1 day from Atlanta to Roswell.    Requests were made anywhere from 30 days to 1 week in advance.

Tomorrow I am working until 9:30pm so I can't check the mail before the polls close to see if the ballot is there.  It is possible for me to go to my voting place in the morning and just show up a bit late to work.

How much grief are they going to give me at the polling place?  What do I need to do?  Any voting experts here?  I need to vote!  Mrs. feels the same way even though she has a busy day also.

As i understand it, even if the absentee ballot comes in the mail, your the polling office has to rec'v that ballot before the polls close.

Sounds, like you just have one option.   Go in the am.

My understanding is that you can show up and vote in person as long as you don't send in the absentee ballot as well.  If you try that, you have committed voter fraud. If they say anything, just tell them they dropped the ball on sending the ballots in time.  You do need to have the absentee ballot back to them before the close of the polls today for it to count, if you manage to get it in time.

I sent in my application for my absentee ballot months ago (the 90 day mark), and only got the ballot about three weeks ago.  It's like they sit there forever on a mountain of applications, then try to rush them all out at once.  Maybe they don't get the ballots earlier than that?

Went this am.   1 hour and 40 minute wait.  No problem at all.

BTW... I voted "Present" about 8 times against some people running un-opposed (as a write in candidate)
