www.patakmeats.com/Price_List.html I've been going here awhile. Great food cheap prices but not open on weekends... |
Holy Shit, you can't be serious. The Brats were what got me going there in the first place. They make them with Veal. They are as close to German as you will ever find. You are right, though. The smoked meats and sausages there are out of this world. I have been going there for at least 10 years. Every person that I have ever taken there is now a regular customer. Try the smoked salmon. WOW! |
| I've been going to the Sausage Chalet for several years myself, prices are good for the unique offerings they have. The smoked salmon rocks, the GF calls it "ham fish". The smoked trout too, I'd like to know how they debone it while leaving the fish intact? Some of my other favorites include - fresh Polish sausage, garlic & Hungarian salami, Kabanos, Bohemian smokies, smoked ribs & pork chops, head cheese and the liqueur filled candies. I made up a "Polack Samplier Pack" from there for Bookhound last year when my MG transfer came in. |
I guess I'm just not a Brat snob. |
This place is amazing! I love their bacon. |

+1 on wanting to know what "else" was going into the sausages that shouldn't have been... If it's something like pork, that might have offended people of some religions, that's fine. If it's something like Lassie, not so much. Meanwhile, I'm with Toque on the bratwurst. Not worth the drive when the Publix is as good and right around the corner. The other sausages are splendid, however! |
A month or two ago, I was giving serious consideration to joining the Bacon of the Month club.... www.gratefulpalate.com/?p=Category_11 |
