| My wife and I will be moving to Georgia (her home state) in the future. I just read that in NC, their state laws prevent anyone from carying a gun during a national emergency (hurricane, etc). I know GA is very gun friendly and was wondering if there is anything like that in GA laws. Thanks. |

I don't know about the carrying of firearms, but what I do know is that Georgia passed a bill making it illegal for any kind of firearm confiscation for any other reason than a crime being commited or whatever the normal circumstances are. We don't mess around with our gun laws here. Other than carry restrictions, regs on where and when you can shoot and laws related to selling firearms, there are not really any state level gun laws. The only restrictions I can think of are the ones that echo the National Firearms Act and then another that says that we cannot have incidiary destructive devices. Other than those, it is fair game around here. ETA: What I say above is in reference to being in a state of emergency, basically to prevent the type of confiscations that occured in NOLA. As for the actual law, as it is written, I know it is in this years law book, but I doubt I'll have the time to find it anytime soon. I thought it was the Emergency Powers Act, but google is not helping me right now. |
If you get a chance, can you give me a link to the law about illegal firearm confiscation for any other reason than a crime? Thanks. Im guessin if there was a law like the one in NC, most of you guys would know it. |
