Does anyone know of a store stocking a good selection of reloading stuff around or north of Atlanta? I'm looking for stuff like powder in greater than 1lb containers, primers, and other sundry reloading toys at (of course) good prices. I'm a noob at this and need just about everything. Thanks, Dave |
| If you already know what it is that you want as far as powder and primers, I would recommend ordering through wideners or powder valley. The only thing about ordering online is paying for hazmat and other shipping. As far as going to Tennessee, I would advise you to think about what it is really going to cost you in gas. There is also the fact that Tennessee's sales taxes are pretty high due to the state not having a state income tax. Chances are you will not come out ahead. |

I was driving back from Nashville and decided to try sportsmans. Great store--lots of cool stuff but I walked out without buying anything. I didn't have my laptop out, but the powder prices were a little high, the primers were a lot high, and the bullet components were high as well. But that is probably because I only reload pistol, and try to buy the absolute cheapest jacketed bullets I can find. There is a guy that has posted on this board before--his name escapes me but he sells at gunshows and such. He will order anything you want and has a shop in Alpharetta/Cumming (way up 400). He is a real nice guy, too, with good prices. |

Thats odd.... The last time I did a bulk purchase up there I paid 10.50 a bag for 308 WIN brass. Fed 210M primers were $27.99 per 1K. They were hands down the cheapest for berger bullets period....bergers were even cheaper than sierra there. Rifle powder was cheaper than anywhere else around here or mail order. The guy behind the counter told me to expect a price jump in the near future....guess the future is here...... Now why did you have to post this bad news and ruin my day???

I think you are talking about "walkingman" or something like that. You know, i've tried to call him about 50 times - no answer. Does anyone know if he is still in business? |
last I had heard I think he was trying to sell off what he had in stock at a show not to long ago ... and what wasnt sold at the show was gonna be bought back by the destributors ..... dont quote me on that but that is what I had heard. |
Yeah, that's where I got his contact info but then he deleted those posts with no explanation. I was going to get all my stuff from him.... |

Eastman Gun Shows are CRAP!! They are small, they have deteriated over the years and just aren't worth going to. Back in the day, you could go to the gun show and walk out with a bargin or something different. Now, all dealers have the same weapons in stock and don't want to deal. I'm sure you will have better luck at a larger event. Just my 2 cents hinking.gif |

Last eastman's I was at, I tried to talk a guy down $5 on a soft pistol case he was selling for $25-$30 or so... He said, "I have to pay for this table for the event". I said, "yeah a whole $60-70 bucks for the wknd." He was dumbfounded that I called his bluff, but still didn't budge on price. Sorry, I know the dealers have to make money, but $30 for a soft pistol case made in china is crap. |
