Can anybody recommend a good Welder on the north side of ATL (Cumming area)?  I have a boat trailer that I'm looking to modify and would prefer the work of someone experienced in structural welding.  Let me know what you guys think!

My brother use to be a welder in Florida and did the Aluminum boat trailer. He did some heavy duty water tank for the U.S.A.F that transport in the C-5 to the troops in Iraq. But since he moved to Atl he don't have the welding machine,so I don't know how much help he can help you.

I'm a welder. wuts wrong with welding stainless? it's the easiest metal to weld. What is it you want to weld man? Are you trying to mount some AR's on your trailer? lol

Anna's a shooter and has a pretty decent machine shop.  She can probably help you out, I saw someone picking up a custom replacement axle the last time I was in there.

Sorry for the late replies everyone, but I just got home.  The trailer is steel and is composed of mostly 1/4" C channel and some 1/4" thickness 3" square tubing.  I am trying to do 2 things:

1.  Cut and shorten the winch stand (no big deal really)

2.  Cut tongue and install a Fulton foling tongue.

Unfortunately, the way the trailer was originally made has the main supports going all the way to the ball hitch, making it difficult to install the folding tongue.  I'd like to shorten the supports and bend them in at a greater angle to allow me to place the folding hinge closer to the bow.  I have the necessary tooling and skill to make all the relevant cuts, but I don't trust my welding skills for a job of this magnitude.  I'd imagine it should be a simple job for anyone with reasonable experience.  What I meant by structural welding is someone who can weld parts with sufficient penetration to ensure the cohesive bond.  What I dont want is a "the bigger the gob the better the job" sort of weld.  If any of you guys can help out, or point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it!
